Privacy Policy

Last updated September 1, 2026 · Applies to the Cykle iOS app

Yevhen Basistyi ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy, and we know cycle and health data is sensitive. This Privacy Policy explains how Cykle (the "App") handles information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

01

Information we collect

Cykle does not operate a server-side database of your cycle data. The period, symptom, mood, and intimacy entries you log are stored locally on your device and never leave it as part of normal use.

The App integrates with a small number of third-party services:

RevenueCatManages in-app subscriptions and purchases through your App Store account.
Firebase AnalyticsAggregated, non-identifying usage events — such as which onboarding step or paywall screen was reached — to understand how the App is used.
02

Device permissions

Cykle requests the following permissions, each only used for what's described:

  • Apple Health (optional): if you turn on Health sync, Cykle can read and write menstrual flow, spotting (intermenstrual bleeding), ovulation test results, and sexual activity, so your cycle history stays consistent between Cykle and the Health app. This is off until you explicitly enable it in Settings, and can be turned off at any time from iOS Settings.
  • Notifications (optional): used to remind you about upcoming periods, ovulation windows, daily logging, and birth control pill schedules, if you've set them up. You can disable these at any time.

No other device permissions — camera, microphone, location, or contacts — are requested or used.

03

How data is used

Your logged cycle data is used only to power the App's own predictions and insights, generated on your device from your own history. Firebase Analytics receives aggregated event data (like "paywall shown" or "onboarding step reached") — it does not receive your period dates, symptoms, or any other health entries. Nothing is used for advertising, and Cykle does not run ad SDKs.

04

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We share only what's needed with:

  • RevenueCat — to process and manage your subscription, tied to your App Store account.
  • Firebase Analytics — aggregated app-usage events, not your health entries.
  • Apple Health — only if you enable sync, and only the categories listed above; this data is governed by Apple's own Health privacy protections.

We do not share your period, symptom, mood, or intimacy logs with any party outside of this.

05

Data storage and security

Your logged entries remain on your device at all times and are not uploaded to any server we control. If you enable Apple Health sync, that copy of the data is protected by iOS's own encryption and Health app permissions. Subscription status communicated to RevenueCat is encrypted in transit.

06

Regional compliance

We aim to comply with applicable data protection regulations, including:

GDPR — European Union

Users in the EU may request information about how RevenueCat or Firebase process limited data by contacting us below.

CCPA — California

California residents may contact us with any request regarding the limited data processed through our integrations.

07

Children's privacy

Cykle is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. Because we don't operate a server-side database of your cycle entries, we have no mechanism to collect such data in the first place.
